Egyptian President Hosny Mubarak is doing well following surgery to remove his gall bladder, officials at the University Clinic in the German city of Heidelberg reported Sunday.
A hospital spokeswoman told the German Press Agency dpa that Mubarak was doing well, but without citing details, dpa reported.
Doctors diagnosed the inflammation of the 81-year-old president's gall bladder Friday. Mubarak is expected to stay in Heidelberg for a few more days.
Prime Minister Ahmad Nazif is temporarily assuming Mubarak's responsibilities until his return to Egypt.
Mubarak previously went to Germany in 2004 for back surgery.
