South Korea's intelligence agency said Monday that it has lowered the country's alert level against cyber attacks that hit websites of key government and private agencies last week, Xinhua reported.
The National Intelligence Service (NIS) said it has lowered the alert level from "caution" to "watch" starting from 7 p.m. Sunday (1000 GMT Sunday), adding that it would continue closely monitoring any possibility of more threats.
The so-called "distributed denial of service" (DDoS) attacks, starting from Tuesday evening, struck major websites in South Korea, including those of South Korea's presidential office and other major government bodies.
