Italian President Giorgio Napolitano will pay a formal visit to Turkey starting November 16 at the invitation of Turkish President Abdullah Gul, Gul's office said on Friday, Anadolu Agency reported.
Napolitano will stay in Turkey until November 19.
During their meeting in the Turkish capital Ankara, Gul and Napolitano will discuss bilateral relations, Turkey-EU relations, regional and international issues, as well as ways to broaden cooperation areas, Gul's office said in a statement.
Following his talks in Ankara, Napolitano and his delegation will head to western province of Izmir on the Aegean coast to meet Italian people living in Turkey. He will also tour several historical places and tourist attractions around Izmir.
