Rescue workers have found more than 80 bodies in the debris of a plane that crashed near Islamabad on Wednesday, a senior police official said.

The plane of private airline Air Blue was carrying 152 people when it crashed in the Margalla Hills, some 20 kilometers north of Islamabad's Benazir Bhutto international airport, DPA reported.

Bin Yamin, police chief for Islamabad, said the recovered body parts were being moved to a nearby hospital.

"We have set up a human chain and bodies in bags will be moved down to a certain point from where we transport them on horses to the closest road," Yamin told reporters on the scene.

"Only a small helicopter can land here and if we airlift the bodies it will take two three days to complete the process," he added.
