”Recall of candidacy of the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) members independently balloting in the parliamentary elections in favor of the candidates on single list of party may spread on other constituencies,” Bahar Muradova, the deputy executive secretary of the NAP, told Trend.
Muradova regards it as respect shown by every member of the party to the agreement between sides. “Despite absence of the decision on the issue, recall of candidacy by independent candidates in favor of the candidates on single list is a sign of election culture,” she added.
Touching upon the positive sides of the step, she noted that it would prevent division of votes. According to Muradova, consolidation of votes is a good factor.
The step was first taken in Lankaran rural constituency 74, when two independent candidates of the party recalled their candidacy in favor of Hadi Rajabli.
