During the administrative investigation conducted last year in Azerbaijan, the General Prosecutor's Office were sent materials on the activities of 27 municipalities, in which criminal offenses have been identified. And criminal cases were filed against 21 of them.
Deputy Justice Minister of Azerbaijan Vilayat Zahirov said about this in his report at the Parliament regarding the activities of municipalities in last year.
During the reported year, 1,468 complaints relating to the activities of municipalities were received from the legal and physical entities.
Steps were taken over 1,002 of them. 45 appeals have been investigated in an administrative procedure, and materials on 24 appeals were sent to the Prosecutor General's Office.
As a result of activities undertaken in recent years, the attempt to illegally transfer 3,317.46 hectares of land was prevented.
Based on 481 drawn up protocols on administrative violation, 409 chairmen of municipalities were made answerable. Identified violations were mainly related to the illegal sale of land and mismanagement.
