Baku, Azerbaijan, March 3
By Maksim Tsurkov - Trend:
Azerbaijan is an absolute champion in organizing various sports events, says Niels Daniel, one of the sports announcers at the upcoming FIG World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics in Baku.
The event's organizers have done great work, since the best athletes from all over the world are coming to participate in the tournament, Daniel told Trend March 3.
The sports announcer also noted that the date chosen for holding the FIG World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics is perfect.
The European Championships in Spain will start in late March and by participating in the tournament in Baku, the athletes will be able to test their abilities, to eliminate shortcomings in their performances, Daniel explained.
It is another reason why the best athletes come to Baku, he added.
Further talking about his impressions of Baku, Daniel said that for the first time he visited the city two weeks ago for the FIG World Cup in Artistic Gymnastics and was literally amazed.
The sports announcer said he was previously confident that the best World Cup tournaments are held in Qatar's Doha, but know he believes that Baku has outrun Doha.
Daniel also said he would be glad to be a sports announcer at the World Cup in Rhythmic Gymnastics to be held in Baku in July.
The FIG World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics will be held at the National Gymnastics Arena March 5-6.
Athletes from Europe, Japan, Australia and the US are to participate in the event. Overall, 77 gymnasts (46 men and 31 women), representing 17 countries, will participate in the tournament.
