The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) will operate extended hours in connection with the 2016 Formula 1 Grand Prix of Europe, to be held June 17-19 in Baku, CBA told Trend.
Changes were made to the CBA work schedule to ensure that the guests and thousands of tourists, who will visit Azerbaijan during the F1, are provided with unhindered access to banking services, in particular currency exchange.
The CBA will intensively provide the local banks with currency in cash on a regular basis, including non-working days.
Meanwhile, special brochures have been distributed to Baku hotels for the tourists and foreign guests to get familiar with the protection elements on the national currency banknotes and the banknotes' design.
The banks' branches and offices located in the center of Baku will work extended hours on June 10-21, in line with the recommendations from the Financial Market Supervisory Body of Azerbaijan.
