SCS NOT INTERESTED CUT IN NUMBER OF JSC

The State Committee on Securities is not interested in reducing the number of joint-stock companies (JSCs), the head of the SCS, Heydar Babayev, told journalists on Tuesday.

According to Babayev, at the moment there are some 2000 JSCs in Azerbaijan. Last year 12 stock companies changed the form of form of organization. "This year such companies numbered around 15. We are against the development of the tendency, as the form of JSC is more transparent and advanced,” Babayev underlined.

At present no more than 100 stock companies can afford the attraction of investments through issue of shares, while the JSC can issue bonds for attracting additional funds to the production process
