Kazakhstan reduces oil production

The production of oil, including gas condensate has dropped by 1.3 percent in Kazakhstan in the first quarter of 2016, as compared to the same period in 2015 and stood at 20.08 million tons, said the Statistics Committee of the country's National Economy Ministry.

The oil production totaled 16.73 million tons, or 1.9 percent less than in the same period in 2015, while the gas condensate production stood at 3.35 million tons, or 1 percent more than in the same period in 2015.

Gas production in Kazakhstan increased by 3.1 percent and stood at 12.25 billion cubic meters in the first quarter of 2016. The production of associated gas totaled 6.43 billion cubic meters, or 5.2 percent more than in January-March 2015.

Kazakhstan plans to produce 77 million tons of oil and 43.5 billion cubic meters of gas in 2016, according to the country's Energy Ministry.

Kazakhstan produced 79.5 million tons of oil, including gas condensate in 2015, or 1.7 percent less than in 2014.

The country's gas production stood at 45.713 billion cubic meters in 2015 or 5.2 percent more than in 2014.
