Kazakh telecommunication operator Kcell increased net profit by 14.5 percent in the first quarter of 2014 compared to the same period of 2013

Kazakh telecommunication operator Kcell increased net profit by 14.5 percent in the first quarter of 2014 compared to the same period of 2013, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported with the reference to the company.

Kcell's net profit hit 15.635 billion tenge in this period.

The company's revenue in January-March 2014 increased 2.4 percent to 44.107 billion tenge. EBITDA rose 8.2 percent to 25.673 billion tenge. EBITDA margin increased to 58.2 percent from 55.1 percent a year ago.

Kcell's income from core activity increased 10.6 percent to 19.855 billion tenge. Free cash flow of the company rose 63 percent and reached 17.988 billion tenge in January-March 2014.
Kcell JSC is affiliated with TeliaSonera, the largest Scandinavian telecommunications holding.
The company was established in 1998 and since February 1999 began rendering services of cellular communication under the trade mark Kcell. As of July 17, 2013 the company's subscriber data base was 14.1 million.
