Aide to Kazakh president, the secretary of Kazakhstan's Security Council, Kairat Kozhamzharov met with the U.S. Charge d'Affaires John Ordway, on Jan. 21, Central Communications Service for the president of Kazakhstan said.

During the meeting the parties discussed regional security issues, including negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program and the withdrawal of coalition troops from Afghanistan, as well as development of Kazakh-U.S. relations in the sphere of security.

The parties exchanged views on the fight against illegal turnover of narcotics, psychotropic substances and their precursors.
