Uzbekistan's current president and the presidential candidate from the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businessmen - Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov voted on Mar. 29 at the 644th polling station in city of Tashkent.

Earlier, it was reported that over 70 percent of the voters have already cast ballots in Uzbekistan's presidential election. The voting is taking place in full compliance with national legislation and international norms on the basis of the multiplicity of parties, openness and fairness.

The candidates from four political parties are running for the presidency.

The Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businessmen - Liberal Democratic Party nominated the current president, Islam Karimov as a presidential candidate.

The People's Democratic Party of Uzbekistan proposed the chairman of the Central Council, Hatamzhon Ketmonov to the president's post, and the Democratic Party Milly Tiklanish nominated a member of the party's faction in the parliament, Akmal Saidov.

Meanwhile, the Social Democratic Party Adolat nominated the chairman of the party's executive committee, Narimon Umarov.
