Uzbek plant increases cement production

Ahangarancement JSC (Ahagaran city, Tashkent region), the second largest cement producer in Uzbekistan, increased cement production by 6 percent to up to 1.418 million tons in January-September 2016, as compared to the same period of last year, says the company’s website.

Ahangarancement JSC (Ahagaran city, Tashkent region), the second largest cement producer in Uzbekistan, increased cement production by 6 percent to up to 1.418 million tons in January-September 2016, as compared to the same period of last year, says the company’s website.

Clinker production for 9 months of 2016 grew by 3.8 percent - up to 1.015 million tons.

In total, the company supplied 1.424 million tons of cement (6.1 percent increase) to customers from the beginning of 2016.

Ahangarancement JSC was privatized in accordance with the presidential decree in August 1994. Design capacity of the plant is 1.986 million tons of cement per year.

In August 2006, Russian Eurocement Group holding purchased some 75.5 percent of shares in Ahangarancement JSC. In 2013 its share in the authorized capital of the enterprise was increased to 100 percent.

In March 2014, Ahangarancement received a license to mine limestone and marl deposits of Shavazsay (Almalyk district of Tashkent region) field with reserves of limestone in the amount of 36.4 million metric tons.

In 2015, Ahangarancement increased cement production by 4.1 percent, as compared to 2014 - up to 1.771 million tons and clinker production - by 3.4 percent, to 1.282 million tons.

Presently, some six cement plants with a total installed capacity of more than seven million tons operate in Uzbekistan. The largest are Kizilkumcement JSC (3.08 million tons), Ahangarancement JSC (1.74 million tons) and Kuvasaycement (920,000 tons).
