"Forbes Kazakhstan" magazine published a traditional annual ranking of the wealthiest businessmen in the country.
The total wealth of businessmen included in the Top - 50 of the magazine amounted to $23.3 billion in 2014. The top ten included: Bulat Utemuratov, Timur Kulibayev, Dinara Kulibaeva, Alican Ibragimov, Vladimir Kim, Nurjan Subkhanberdin, Rashid Sarsenov, Askar Alshinbaev, Ajgul Nureyev, Eugene Feld, who are holders of $ 13.3 billion as a whole.
The persons included in the ranking, mainly specialize in the production and sale of raw materials, banking, and agricultural production. Only a few of them have taken the risk to invest in the ICT sector and innovative technologies so far.
At the same time, the business of Kazakh millionaires becomes more diversified. This makes sense as the prices of raw materials in the world are unstable, and especially in the light of recent political events, to bet only on raw materials is fraught with losses.
