Electronic payment of goods from mobile phone will be soon be available in the sales and service points of Baku by the end of the first quarter of 2012, Jamal Kerimov, head of the Mobisky company (content-provider and aggregator), told Trend on Friday.
Mr Kerimov said that currently, testing of the system and adding additional modules into software is underway.
The new method of payment which will be available to subscribers of the Azercell Telekom mobile phone operator of Azerbaijan sees the transfer of money for purchased good or service from the mobile account of subscriber.
The project envisages installation in commercial areas of Baku that can read the devices. It will be possible to make a purchase by bringing the phone close to these devices. The idea will pan out to paying for fares in Baku metro stations.
