Azerbaijan, Baku, April 5 / Trend H. Valiyev /

Television content in the Azerbaijani hotel business will be legalized for the next two years, WISI Communications Gmbh regional sales manager Mikhail Shishkovsky told Trend today.
He said that as illegal television content dominates in the Azerbaijani hotel business now, this encourages the company to promote its solutions in this segment.

"If we take into account the trends in the legalization of television content in the hotel business in other countries, one can predict that legalization of television content in the Azerbaijani hotel sector may take no more than two years, or even less," Shishkovsky said.

The company cooperates with the Azerbaijani cable operators. As a prospect for 2013, there are plans for cooperation with the "Teleradio" production association, the Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry. The company plans to deliver solutions for receiving and converting the signal, he said.

"Teleradio" production association told Trend earlier that a technical coordination group has been implemented to facilitate the deployment of IP-TV services. It will audit the technical condition of the state communication operators' infrastructures (Aztelekom and "Baku Telephone Communications") and prepare proposals for IP-TV services introduction.

The matter rests in Video on Demand services (VOD), interactive television, broadcasting of channels in HD, etc.

The operators have already appealed to "Teleradio" to code 60 TV channels.

"Teleradio" has already started the negotiations with the owners of the channels to obtain the official rights to rebroadcast them.
