The Azerbaijan International Healthcare Exhibition, BIHE 2012 will be held in the capital of Azerbaijan from 27 to 29 September. As the only exhibition in the region in the field of medicine and healthcare, BIHE has become an important meeting place for representatives of public organizations, manufacturers of medical equipment and products, as well as for medical practitioners and specialists.

The high status of the exhibition is supported by the fact that since its establishment, BIHE has been held with the support of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan. It is also supported by the Azerbaijan Stomatological Association (ASA), the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers') Organizations of Azerbaijan Republic and the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO). For the past six years, BIHE has held "UFI Approved Event" status awarded by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI), which serves as confirmation of the exhibition's compliance with international standards.

This year, BIHE will gather 107 participants from 16 countries. Companies from Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bangladesh, Belarus, Iran, and Russia will demonstrate the latest technology necessary for and claimed by the modern health care industry. Bangladesh will be represented at the exhibition for the first time this year.

In general, 40% of BIHE exhibitors are local companies and 60% are international. This year the range of products presented at the exhibition has greatly expanded. BIHE 2012 presents a wide range of medical products and services: medical and laboratory equipment, pharmaceuticals, disinfectants, orthopaedic products, medical furniture, IT software for hospitals, and medical clothing. Textiles products for medical institutions will be on display at the exhibition. The competition in the pharmaceutical sector will continue between companies from Russia, Iran, Belarus, Syria and Bangladesh.

A special feature at BIHE 2012 will be a comprehensive display of clinical facilities. Turkish representatives have shown great interest in this sector, i.e. five therapeutic and diagnostic institutions from Turkey will be taking part in the exhibition. On a separate stand, the Committee for Foreign Economic Relations of Turkey, whose members make up a significant proportion of the clinics in Turkey, will be taking part in this event for the first time in the history of the exhibition. Healthcare Belgium, which was established by the leading Belgian hospitals and is responsible for international cooperation, is also participating for the first time.

Two more events, the 7th Azerbaijan International Stomatology Exhibition, Stomatology Azerbaijan 2012, and the 6th Azerbaijan International Beauty and Aesthetic Medicine Exhibition, Beauty Azerbaijan 2012 will be held in parallel with BIHE from 27 to 29 September.
As part of Stomatology Azerbaijan 2012 participants will demonstrate the latest technologies in implants and teeth whitening.

Thus, this year's exhibition will once again serve as a platform on which to discuss the prospects of cooperation between the consumers, producers and suppliers of medical devices and drugs, and a unique place at which to showcase current trends in medicine to a wide range of industry experts. This will promote the renewal of treatment facilities with modern diagnostic and treatment equipment, and improve the quality of health care in the country.

HB Co Ltd acts as the general sponsor of the exhibition. The exhibition is organized by Iteca Caspian LLC and its partner, ITE Group plc. The partners of the international exhibitions in 2012 include Nar Mobile (as the communications partner), AZAL (as the official Air Carrier), Hilton Baku and Caucasus Point Hotel (as the official hotels), and Greenwich Travel Club (as the official travel agent).

The 6th Azerbaijan International Beauty and Aesthetic Medicine Exhibition, Beauty Azerbaijan 2012, will be held from 27 to 29 September at Baku Expo Centre in the capital of Azerbaijan. As is tradition, the exhibition will showcase the latest trends in the beauty industry and bring together interested producers, distributors and consumers of professional cosmetics and equipment, as well as professionals who want to draw on the cutting-edge achievements of the health and beauty industry.

Beauty Azerbaijan 2012 will involve 35 leading companies in the professional cosmetics markets of Azerbaijan, Belgium, Italy, Latvia and Russia, which will present products and technologies that are widely used in beauty salons, fitness clubs, SPA centres and hairdressers.

Thus, the show will include the following sections: professional cosmetics, body care, aromatherapy, beauty salon equipment, manicure materials, medical cosmetics, professional hair products, hairdressing tools, and accessories and consumables. Producers from CIS countries will be actively participating in this year's exhibition. For example, perfumes and household cleaning products from the Russian Federation will be on display for the visitors to the exhibition and Belarusian manufacturers will be presenting skin care products.

This year the exhibition features an emphasis on natural cosmetics. Gazelli, the largest local producer, as well as companies from Belgium and Latvia that are taking part in the exhibition for the first time, will present their products in this sector. In addition, Beauty Azerbaijan 2012 will be a springboard for the introduction to the Azerbaijani market of a completely new natural cosmetic, the fish pedicure and massage, which is very popular in countries with a developed tourism sector.

Another newcomer to the exhibition which will touch upon a new subject is a company engaged in the examination of the quality and safety of the cosmetic products produced, exported and imported to the domestic market, and their certification.

It is a tradition that a variety of treatments and master classes for the public are held on the exhibitors' stands at Beauty Azerbaijan. This year is no exception, and presentations, master classes in hair styling and manicures, and skin care treatments will be take place, led by experts, during the three days of Beauty Azerbaijan 2012.

For the past several years, Beauty Azerbaijan has been showing steady growth. This year's show will be 10% larger than last year's exhibition. The topicality of the exhibition is also confirmed by the results of independent research by Euromonitor International, which predicts rapid growth in the cosmetics and personal care market in Azerbaijan in the next 5 years.

According to the report, "It is expected that in the next five years this market will show almost the same steady growth as in 2011. This market has great potential for growth, in comparison with Western Europe." Thus, this year Beauty Azerbaijan 2012 will once again serve as an ideal platform for business development, helping participants to share experiences, make new contacts and conclude contracts, which will eventually contribute to the improvement of aesthetic medicine in the country.

The exhibition is supported by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers') Organizations of the Azerbaijan Republic and the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO). The exhibition is organized by the British company ITE Group plc and Iteca Caspian LLC, its partner in the Caucasus.
