ISOC Central Administration to open office in Azerbaijan

ISOC (Internet Society) Central office is planning to open an office in Azerbaijan, the chairman of Azerbaijani Internet Forum (AIF) Osman Gunduz told Trend on Monday.
According to him negotiations on cooperation with the organisation were held in Baku under the Internet Governance Forum (IGF-2012).
The main activity of ISOC is to determine the development direction of the Internet and promoting global information exchange.
Participation in the development of new rules for regulation of the Internet community including for the management of the national domains, consulting and educational activities, the formation of a single straightforward approach to conflicts and disputes in the management of Internet resources are among the main tasks of ISOC's Azerbaijani mission.
AIF expressed readiness to support the establishment of an independent agency in Azerbaijan that will positively affect the future of the Internet, contribute to the development of effective administrative processes necessary for operating the Internet and to promote the implementation and development of the Internet infrastructure and its use.
