Baku 2015 European Games are a historic event because they are being held for the first time, Swedish Fighter newspaper reported with reference to Santiago Nieva, the head coach of the Swedish national boxing team.
Nieva said that Baku 2015 European Games look like the Olympic Games in terms of organizing and spectator interest.
He said that the first European Games will provide the athletes with an opportunity to gain good experience before the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
The head coach said that good conditions have been created for the athletes at the first European Games in Baku.
"Sweden is being represented by professional boxers at the Baku 2015 European Games," he said.
The European Games kicked off in Baku June 12 and will last till June 28. There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports.
More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe came to Baku to represent their nations over 17 days of competition. Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
