SOCAR names volumes of gas extracted from underground storage

About 646 million cubic meters of gas was extracted from underground storage within the gas extraction season in Azerbaijan, the message of SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) told Trend Dec.25.

Azerbaijan has two underground gas storages facilities, Kalmaz and Garadagh, which are on the balance of SOCAR.

Some 261 million cubic meters of the total volume of gas extracted from the storage, fell on Garadagh, and 385 million cubic meters on Kalmaz storage facility, according to the message.

The residual volumes of gas in both storage facilities amount to 2.7 billion cubic meters.

At the end of last pumping season, the volumes of gas in underground storage amounted to 1.81 billion cubic meters (920 million cubic meters in Garadagh storage, 887 million cubic meters in Kalmaz storage), compared to about 3.23 billion cubic meters at the end of the previous season.

The country's underground storages allow the pumping of over 3.5 billion cubic meters of gas.
