SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) is ready to assist Azerenergy JSC in purchasing Russian gas, a senior representative of SOCAR told reporters Feb. 1.
The representative said that Azerenergy JSC needs additional volumes of gas, and SOCAR is ready to assist in purchasing gas from the Russian Gazprom company, as well as to provide an infrastructure for that.
"No agreement has been reached yet, but if the government gives instructions to purchase the gas and an agreement with any supplier is reached, the import will be possible this year," said the representative of the company.
