Saloglu's surroundings still dangerous Director of ANAMA

The surroundings of Saloglu village of Agstafa area are still very dangerous, Trend reports quoting Nazim Ismayilov, Director of Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA).

Ismayilov stated the case of spilling white phosphorus (napalm) on one of sappers clearing mines around Saloglu, following which the latter was hospitalized urgently. В"This is a bright example of how dangerous the works in this area areВ", - he underlined, adding that groups educating the population do the main job on preventing such accidents.

ANAMAs Director said 4 accidents have been registered during first five months of 2006 compared to 26 in 2005 and 40 in 2004. В"Reduction of accidents depends on public awareness and warning signsВ", - he concluded.

Alongside, Ismayilov said, the entire work of the agency is built accounting for international standards, which is also promoted by raising the number of trainings for ANAMAs personnel.

In its time, Soviet ammunition dump was located by Saloglu village, but its explosion resulted in ammunition strewing over the big area.
