We shall pay particular attention to the struggle against terrorism. It's the issue which is the priority for Russia. However, that will not be the only issue where your country (Russia Trend) plays an important role, the Spanish Minister told to Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
Spain will chair the OSCE from January 7, 2007.
Mr. Moratinos said that the chairmanship of Spain in OSCE would become the key topic of the negotiations with Sergey Lavrov, Russian Foreign Minister. I would like to know the interests and wishes of such an influential member of this Organization like Russia. I also want to tell the main priorities of our programme to the Head of the Russian Foreign Office, said Mr. Moratinos.
According to him, during the meeting with Mr. Lavrov, the issue of the so-called frozen conflicts on the territory of CIS will be discussed. That is one of the issues which are of the OSCE particular concern. Russian position is strong in this issue, said Mr. Moratinos.
The two-date visit of the Spanish Foreign Minister to Russia started today.
