Criminal Case Filed Over Collapse of New Building in Narimanov District of Baku

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. I.Alizadeh / Rasim Gurbanov, the assistant of the Prosecutor for the Narimanov District of Baku, stated on 2 August that a criminal case has been filed over the collapse of a newly constructed three-storey trade and office centre in Narimanov district, in compliance with Article 162.2 of the Criminal Code of the Azerbaijan.

According to Gurbanov, Aliyev Eldar Malumatoglu, a resident of the Alkhanli village of Fizuli region of Azerbaijan, died and three men were injured as a result of the accident.

"However, regarding the three injured men, we do not yet have exact information. Later it was revealed that one man was injured and another was delivered to the hospital for shaking. After rendering care to both injured men, they were sent home," Gurbanov added.

The identities of those injured have not yet been confirmed, as the Prosecutor has not yet visited the wounded. The owners of the facility have also to be identified. The forensic medical examination, however, has been concluded. The Prosecutor also visited the scene of the accident.
