K.Ramazanova / The Azerbaijani Government should take public opinion into consideration before making decisions to integrate with NATO, Despina-Ino Afentouli, the coordinator on South Caucasus countries of the NATO Public Diplomacy Department, said at a conference on Cooperation of Civil Society and State Bodies in Integration of Azerbaijan into the Euro-Atlantic Region.
"The state may make the decision to integrate into NATO or the EU. The main issue is the position of the state and the public should agree," Afentouli said.
The role of integration of Azerbaijan to NATO was noted at the conference implemented by NATO, the Turkish embassy to Azerbaijan and the European Lawyers Association.
