France, Strasbourg, 22 January / corr Trend A.Maharramli, S.Ilhamgizi / Konstantin Kosachev, a Russian parliamentary delegate, stated that it is necessary to respect the principles of international law and the people of Serbia in the Kosovo issue, Trend reported.
The MP made this statement in the plenary meeting of PACE on 22 January. He was commenting on a report on the Kosovo situation developed by Lord Russell-Johnston.
He does not agree with statements urging Russia's support of separatist regimes.
According to Kosachev, separatist regimes in Abkhazia and South Ossetia sent appeals in connection to their independence, whereas Russia did not recognize them.
"I do not agree with the idea of completion of talks on the Kosovo problem. We should respect the people of Serbia, follow international legal norms and principles," the Russian MP said.
