Azerbaijan, Baku, 23 January / corr Trend S.Agayeva / Dimitrij Rupel, the newly appointed Chairman of the European Union and Slovenian Foreign Minister, will pay a visit to Azerbaijan on 4 February, Borut Megushar, the Slovenia Embassy in Azerbaijan, told Trend.
Slovenia took chairmanship of the EU on 1 January, replacing Portugal in this role.
Rupel will lead the EU 'troika', who plans to tour Georgia and Armenian as well as Azerbaijan, the Embassy said.
Members of the EU 'troika' ( Germany, France and UK) and Peter Semneby, special representative of the EU for South Caucasus, intend to discuss bilateral cooperation between the EU and Azerbaijan in Baku.
A new EU representation will open on this day in Azerbaijan.
