Russia Will Make Black Sea Fleet Proposal After 2017: Russian Foreign Minister
Azerbaijan, Baku, 22 October / Trend corr. V.Zhavoronkova / In 2017, the Russian Federation will be ready to make a proposal to Ukraine that would let the Russian Black Sea Fleet stay in the territory of the country, Sergey Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Minister, said at the news-conference in Moscow, the Vesti channel reported.
Russia insists on the Russian-Ukrainian commission to follow the fulfillment of the bilateral agreements between the countries.
Under the agreement between Ukraine and Russia, the Black Sea Fleet will stay in the territory of Ukraine until 2017. The Russian side does not rule out that the term of lease is prolonged. Kiev in its turn insists on withdrawal of the fleet on the set date.
