Afghanistan, Kabul, 10 November / corr Trend A. Hakimi / For the first time Afghanistan hosts first European conference
The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) held its first conference in Kabul.
The representatives of more than 30 countries have participated in this conference held in Kabul.
Rangin Dadfar Aspanta, the Afghan foreign minister chairs at the conference.
Speaking to delegates, Foreign Minister Rangin Dadfar Aspanta requests the foreign countries to double their contribution for the capacity and training of Afghan security force and Afghanistan's counter-narcotics strategy was also discussed.
An OSCE officials was speaking to the conference expressed, the meeting will play vital role in increasing cooperation between OSCE, Afghanistan and Central Asian countries. We are trying to increase our cooperation in restoring security and the government's authority.
It should be mentioned that for years ago OSCE played an important role in Afghanistan's presidential and parliamentary election.
The organization was established 1937 with 56 members.
United State and Russia are also the important members of OSCE.
Afghanistan in 2003 became the partner for cooperation not member of this organization.
