Talks within incident prevention in Georgia can be resumed

After a six-month pause in the talks within Ergneti meeting on incident prevention and response mechanisms can be resumed, Sergi Kapanadze, the director of international organizations department of Foreign Ministry of Georgia said.

After a six-month pause in the talks within Ergneti meeting on incident prevention and response mechanisms can be resumed, Sergi Kapanadze, the director of international organizations department of Foreign Ministry of Georgia said.

"As is known, in connection with Tskhinvali, this mechanism hasn't work for six months, but there is some progress towards the restoration of the format, and it is possible that the talks will be held before the next round of the Geneva talks," he said.

According to Kapanadze, among other topics, this issue will also be discussed at the Geneva talks.

Co-chair of the Geneva talks from EU Pierre Morel also commented on the possibility of restoring the Ergneti meeting. According to him, the fact that the talks can be resumed is a positive result.
