Azerbaijan, Baku, June 8 / Trend M.Aliyev /
Turkey should be included in the Azerbaijani military doctrine, as a country with which we cooperate in the military sphere and in the fields of politics and security, Azerbaijani MP Zahid Oruj said during the discussion of draft military doctrine at the parliament's extraordinary session.
The draft military doctrine was submitted for discussion of the parliament's extraordinary session on Tuesday.
Deputy Speaker and Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee Chairman Ziyafat Asgarov submitted the document for discussion of the Azerbaijani President. The document consists of seven sections and 75 items, he said. The document reflected issues such as national security, military threat in the region, the facts of military aggression, military aggression of Armenia against Azerbaijan, real problems and challenges facing the armed forces of Azerbaijan. The questions of the future strategy of military development, the international military cooperation, military ties, bilateral military treaties and other issues were also indicated there.
The draft military doctrine reflects exceptions for the deployment of the foreign military bases in Azerbaijan's territory. The document says that Azerbaijan reserves the right on the issue if necessary.
Armenia is listed as an aggressor in the doctrine. Moreover, this document reflected the issues related to the situation arising as a result of this aggression and the huge security risks. The project opened questions of Azerbaijan's priorities in the region.
The draft military doctrine reflected the issues of global crises, violent struggle being waged over energy resources, and separatism.
Speaker Ogtay Asadov did not agree with Oruj's proposal. Asadov said that Azerbaijan is not included in any blocs and mention on Turkey will speak to the contrary.
