A week of commemoration of victims of the war of August 2008 starts in Georgia today. The initiators of the event from Prime Time newspaper told at a press conference that a red poppy will be a symbol of the week.
Within the week it's planned to hold various events, in particular, presentation of the book "Heroes" published by the newspaper. It tells about the Georgian military men dead during the war. The book contains 170 stories.
Several publications have been published for blinds.
The commemoration week is attended by the public representatives, people with different specialties.
The day before the President and the Patriarch of Georgia visited the new church built on Mukhatgverd cemetery of the Georgian Defense Ministry.
