The deputy chairman of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party has received a delegation of the OSCE Observation Mission, headed by Audrey Glover, the website of the ruling party said.

Deputy Chairman Ali Akhmedov laid out preparations for parliamentary elections on Nov. 7, the electoral process, the candidates nominated by the party and the election campaign for the OSCE group.

New Azerbaijan party executive secretary Mubariz Gurbanli, political analyst at the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights Marian Gabriel and advisor on elections Drew Hyslop also attended the meeting.

Parliamentary elections are scheduled for Nov. 7. Previous legislative elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 electoral constituencies.
