Prospects for political and economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Switzerland were discussed in Geneva.
The Azerbaijani and Swiss delegates led by Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov and Swiss Foreign Ministry State Secretary Peter Maurer held talks in Geneva, the foreign ministry reported.
Maurer proposed to expand the economic relations through the Azerbaijani companies' participation in investing in the country's economy.
Khalafov invited his counterpart to visit Azerbaijan to continue consultations.
During the visit, Khalafov also met with Swiss Vice-President and Foreign Minister Micheline Calmy-Rey.
Praising Azerbaijan's leadership role in the region, Calmy-Rey named the country as an important partner for Switzerland.
