Azerbaijan allocates more places for candidates' meetings with voters

Azerbaijan has allocated 4,930 places for meetings of candidates with their voters in accordance with the law "On freedom of assembly". Of them 2,676 are open areas and the rest are enclosed spaces. In 2010, the country allocated more 131 places, including 91-open areas and 40 enclosed spaces, the "Azerbaijan" newspaper reported.  

The voters in seven constituencies, including the 118th Agdam City Constituency, the 120th Jabrayil-Gubadli Constituency, the 121st Lachin Constituency, the 122nd Khankendi Constituency, the 123rd Kalbajar Constituency, the 124th Shusha-Agdam-Khojali-Khojavand Constituency and the 125th Zangilan-Gubadli Constituency, will be able to use areas allocated in the regions, where they are temporarily housed.

The country did not allocate open area for the meetings in the Horadiz village in the Fizuli region to ensure safety.

Despite the absence of constituencies in the Naftalan, Dashkasan, Siyazan and Khizi, the country allocated places for meetings of candidates with their voters.

The paper has not provided information about the seven constituencies in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

Parliamentary elections are scheduled for Nov. 7. Previous legislative elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 electoral constituencies.
