Baghdad is interested in the investigation of documents published on the WikiLeaks website, since the publication of such documents is an insult to the Iraqi government, said Iraqi political analyst.

"The publication of these documents is an insult to all Iraqi government in the person of Nouri al-Maliki," an Iraqi political analyst Riyadh Al-Gayyim told Trend from Baghdad.

English WikiLeaks website, specializing in publishing submissions of otherwise unavailable documents from anonymous sources and leaks, has published about 400,000 documents having relations to the U.S. military operations in Iraq. The published documents mentioned the death of about 110,000 people, of whom 66,000 are civilians, nearly 24,000 - "the enemy", more than 15,000 - the "host country" (Iraqi military) and 3,700 - "friendly" loss (U.S. military). The documents also reveal facts about the actions of the Iraqi secret forces, subordinating directly to Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, persecuting people, mostly Sunnis, for political reasons.

According to Al-Gayyim, despite that the Supreme Constitutional Court of Iraq made a requirement to conduct an investigation on this issue, the government has not taken any steps in this regard.
"International organizations for the protection of human rights and the UN have also repeatedly demanded an investigation of the above-mentioned documents," said Al Gayyim.

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay has urged the U.S. and Iraqi governments to investigate the events referred by the WikiLeaks website in the so-called "Iraqi dossier". "The U.S. and Iraqi authorities must take all necessary measures to investigate the facts mentioned in the dossier," the Agence France-Presse cited to Pillay.

Political analyst also noted that the Iraqi people do not pay enough attention to the process of investigation and wait for the relevant decisions of the government.

Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, in turn, saw the publication of the documents was politically motivated. According to the Prime Minister, WikiLeaks has published papers in order to "sabotage his hopes for reelection."

Arab experts believe that the publication of these documents will lead to the destabilization of political situation in the country and become a serious obstacle to the formation of a new Iraqi government after seven months of negotiations between the country's political parties, Al-Jazeera television channel reported.

Nevertheless, al-Gayyim believes that the new Iraqi government will be undoubtedly be formed and such publications can not influence this process.
"Local political forces and the coalition parties of the country have already agreed upon forming a government," said al-Gayyim.
