Ashirgeldi Begliyev was appointed chairman of the State Migration Service upon the decree of Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdymuhammedov, the Turkmen government said.
Previously, he served as the first deputy minister of national security. Former head of the Migration Service Seyitniyaz Balliyev was dismissed due to his transferring to another post.
The Migration Service provides foreign citizens and people without citizenship with visas.
