Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb. 1 / Trend M. Aliyev /
An Azerbaijani MP has called on citizens not to travel to Iran.
"I call for Azerbaijani citizens not to visit Iran. Most young Azerbaijanis visiting Iran, become addicted to drugs," MP Zahid Oruj said.
He said that according to the statistics, Iran is the largest exporter of drugs in the region. The elimination of the visa regime by Tehran pursued these objectives.
"Those goals were pursued while eliminating the visa regime between Iran and Georgia. Iran facilitated the importation of drugs into this country given that Azerbaijanis live in Georgia. Azerbaijan and Georgia do not represent other interests to Iran. The main purpose of the Iranian policy in the region is the physical destruction of Azerbaijanis," he said.
