Agents of the National Security Ministry (NSM) of Azerbaijan seized 20 smugglers of drugs over the past month. A total of more than 27 kilograms of narcotic substances were detected and withdrawn from them, the NSM Public Liaisons Department told Trend.
As a result of the operations, the members of the organized gang were detained. Citizens of Azerbaijan - Shamilov Namig Ahmad, Khubaliyev Serraf Shakarali, Alakbarova Arzu Isa, Shamilov Tahir Ahmad, Yaraliyev Ramiz Pirali, Bakirov Vusal Arastun, Gasimova Asya Chingiz, Shamilov Majid Tahir and others smuggled a great deal of drugs from the Islamic Republic of Iran to Azerbaijan, obtained and kept illegal firearms and munitions and resisted to the government representatives fulfilling their duties. Though some of the employees of the Ministry of National Security were injured during the operation, the measures were completed successfully.
As a result of the other operation carried out by the Ministry of National Security, citizens of Azerbaijan - Idrisov Bahram Farman and Alakbarov Tarlan Ilyas were detained, 2.784 kg heroin was seized from them. Citizens of Azerbaijan - Nagiyev Samir Khanahmad, Abbasov Azad Vidadi and Nasirova Saida Huseyngulu were also detained over illicit drug turnover. 12.757 kg hashish was seized from them.
Azerbaijanis - Hasanov Nizami Maharram, Safiyev Gachay Khasay and Garayev Chingizkhan Islam were detained as a result of the next operation, 570 g heroin was seized.
Tahirov Aflatun Ahmad was detained on April 23, 10 kg hashish was seized from him.
Criminal cases were launched on all the facts, investigation is underway.
