Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received Chairman of the Committee on International Relations of the House of Deputies of the Congress of Mexico Porfirio Munoz Ledo, the Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.
Mammadyarov expressed satisfaction with the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Mexico and noted the opportunities for expansion of these ties.
The Minister noted that Azerbaijan is interested in development of relations with Mexico, in the intensity of mutual visits between the two countries, which will contribute to the strengthening of relations and enhance communication between the parliaments.
Mammadyarov, touching the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, said the withdrawal of Armenian armed forces from the occupied Azerbaijani territories is necessary for the settlement of the conflict and also thanked the Mexican Senate for the resolution.
Porfirio Munez Ledo expressed satisfaction with the visit to Azerbaijan and expressed gratitude for the warm welcome. He also stressed that his country is interested in expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan, and also noted that there is potential for cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the economic sphere.
Ledo also stressed the importance of cooperation in the framework of international organizations.
