By Samir Ali - Trend:

Azerbaijan will continue to purchase the most modern technologies to continuously enhance its military potential, the editor-in-chief of the newspaper Baku Khabar, political expert Aydin Guliyev told Trend.

"Analysis of individual statements of President Ilham Aliyev in the economic, political, social and business areas and foreign policy allows to highlight specific points. For example, the president, speaking of the purchase of weapons and military equipment, said that 'from now on we intend to acquire only the most modern equipment and weapons, and the number of countries willing to sell us this equipment is growing'. Compared to previous years, today we make a choice rather than being tied to any certain supplier," the expert said.

Guliyev also added that the president had sent a clear message to everyone that the dynamic growth of the economy would also continue, making it possible to strengthen the country's defense power.

"At one time, the world community incredibly equalized the statuses of Azerbaijan and Armenia. For this reason, the sale of weapons to both countries was limited. The enemies had created a real military blockade of Azerbaijan," Guliyev said.

The expert added that if today Azerbaijan is able to choose the most modern equipment, it means that the military blockade is completely eliminated, Azerbaijan could bring to the whole world the true essence of the Karabakh problem.

"The whole world is convinced that in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Armenia is the aggressor, and Azerbaijan is the party that has been subjected to aggression. This is one of the moments of the undoubted diplomatic advantage of Azerbaijan over Armenia on a global scale," Guliyev added.
