The UNO deputy Secretary General, Director General of the Vienna department, executive director of the drug and criminal fighting department of the given structure, Antonio Marie Costa has been delivered an invitation to visit Baku.
The invitation has been passed on by the Minister of Internal Affairs (MIA) Ramil Usubov who paid an official visit to Austria on 14-15 July, Trend reports, citing the MIA press service.
Delivering his invitation, Usubov said, that it is important for Azerbaijan the UNO be represented at the highest level at the forthcoming 12-16 September Baku next 40-th session of the UNO support commission on illegal drugs trafficking in the Middle and Near East
and passed on the letter to Antonio Costa with the invitation of the Azerbaijani government to take part in the session.
The sides discussed further ways for strengthening cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UNO in the global fight against the international crime.
It should be noted, that on the outcome of the talks with the Federal Minister of Internal Affairs of Austria Mrs. Liza Prokop the agreement “On cooperation in police activities” between both countries’ Inferior Ministries was signed.
Usubov invited her Austrian counterpart to pay an official visit to Azerbaijan. The Interior Ministry head of Austria invited her Azerbaijani counterpart to take part in the 2006 Vienna conference of the Ministries of Justice and the Internal Affairs of the European Union.
