Social-democratic party starts holding conferences

The Social-democratic party of Azerbaijan (SDPA) has begun to hold conferences in connection with repeated formation of its regional branches, the Secretary of the SDPA, Tofik Ahmedov told Trend.

Ahmedov told that the conferences have been held in 8 districts of Baku. Structural changes were held in some branches. Now, we are planning to hold similar events in the regions of the country in February 2006, he underlined.

The Chairman of the SDPA also noted that the co-chairman of the party, Araz Alizade, made a decision about participation in the by-elections to the parliament scheduled for 13 May 2006. As soon as Araz Alizade returns from the conference to be held by SocIntern in Athens late January, he will state the constituency he is going to ballot from, Ahmedov stressed.
