On Tuesday a group of companies ANS and the Foundation of the National Hero Chingiz Mustafayev held a ceremony of awarding MP Mehriban Aliyeva, the President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Man of the Year prize, Trend reports. Aliyeva was awarded the prize for the maintenance of the national culture heritage, work done for the confirmation of the positive image of Azerbaijan as the UNESCO Good-will Ambassador, organization and conduct of the World Championship for the first time in Azerbaijan, work done for the development of the education system under New school for renewed Azerbaijan.
In his remarks Vahid Mustafayev, the head of the ANS group of companies, noted that last year 23 schools were repaired in different regions of the country at the initiative of the First Lady, a program on construction of 132 schools was designed and set up, the 27th World Calisthenics Championship was for the first time held in Azerbaijan. Moreover, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation provides medical supply to children suffering from diabetics and talassemia. In 2005 some medical institutions and birding schools were repaired.
Expressing her gratitude to ANS and the Chingiz Mustafayev Fund for the award, Aliyeva underlined that since the very beginning the Heydar Aliyev Foundation set many tasks to carry out. Particularly, last year the Foundation implemented some projects in the sphere of education, medicine and culture. She stressed the implementation of the project on New schools for renewed Azerbaijan in 2005. While designing the project we considered all rural schools and compiled a list of institutions in tougher state. In the second stage 132 schools were built in a short period of time, she stressed. She also noted that the Foundation will continue similar work in different directions.
