Рђzerbaijan as an integral part of the world community recognizes the right of Iran to use the nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. It is the axiom, recognized by all independent states, deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov said in a statement today during his talk with journalists, while voicing the stance of the official Baku in regard to the Irans nuclear program realization, Trend reports, citing the ANS TV channel.

В"However, undoubtedly, in case Iran implements its nuclear program it must happen based on the internationally recognized formula. Particularly, IAEA is functioning in this field, Khalafov said.

Along with this, deputy head of the Azerbaijan foreign relations department ruled out the possible use of the Azerbaijan territory against Iran for military purposes. Khalafov reminded that during the visit of the Azerbaijan former president Heydar Aliyev to Tehran agreement on principles of relations between the two states was signed. В"Under the agreement, the sides undertook mutual commitments not to use their territories for the purposes aimed against each other, Khalafov reminded.
