Last year was remembered for some improvements in the foreign trade. The foreign trade turnover comprised $8.55bn.

The monthly foreign trade balance became black.

The growth pace of export grew 20.23% and comprised $4.35bn, while import grew 19.46% and comprised $4.20bn. In this period foreign trade ended with a balance at $0.15bn in black.

Export of products grew in every category, in particular oil and oil products. The number of categories of export goods amounted to 2102, while oil and oil products took the major part in the structure of export. Highest export volume comprised $1.2bn in October 2005, while the lowest was fixed in January $0.11bn.

Rise in import was caused by cars and equipment, as well as natural gas and transport conveyances. The same time the import of foodstuff, ferrous metal and wares of it, as well as pharmaceutics products dropped. The highest volume of import was fixed at $0.58bn in January 2005, the lowest figure comprised $0.26bn in February.

Last year Azerbaijan imported goods foreign countries (except CIS) in the amount of $2.75bn. They were different devices, electric machines, furniture, land transport conveyances

In this period Azerbaijan exported to foreign countries (along with CIS) export goods worth $3.44bn, which comprises 79.17% of entire export. The export was mainly comprised of oil products, fruits, ferrous metal.

Moreover, export of goods to CIS countries amounted to $905.34m, or 20.83% of all export. The same time import from these countries amounted to 1447.5m 34.46% of all import. The foreign trade ended in a balance $542,146m in red. Azerbaijan mainly imported rigs, land transport conveyances, oil products and grains, but exported fruits, oil, chemical substances, oil and fat.
