Projects for constructing 6 from 9 planned pedestrian crossings have been prepared and the enterprises to be dealing with building new bridges in Baku have been identified, the Azerbaijan Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov said in a statement today, Trend reports.
According to him, the Transport Ministry is carrying out active works aimed at enforcing of the relevant decree by the Azerbaijan President. At the same time a special commission headed by the vice Premier of the Azerbaijan government Abid Sharifov has been set up

В"Construction of the first bridge in Baku will start not later than on 15 March at the Azizbekov circle, he said.
Funds in the amount of $16 million have been allocated by the government for performing the works in time. В"The project will be implemented mostly by local companies, however, taking into consideration the fact that it will be an extended project local companies are also supposed to be involved , the Transport Minister noted.
According to Mammadov, the works on specifying tariffs for taxi drivers licenses are also underway currently. В"All citizens of the country may be engaged in such activities in line with the conditions stipulated by the legislation, but the cars are to meet technical requirements and have taximeters, he indicated.
