Sitting of the Milli Mejlis (the Parliament) of Azerbaijan permanent commission on security and defense has been held today, the Milli Mejlis press service told Trend.
The Milli Mejlis first deputy, chairman of the above-mentioned commission Ziyafet Askerov said, due to application of the law On readiness to demobilization and mobilization in the Azerbaijan Republic and coming into force of the Regulations on military-transport post changes and amendments are introduced into the laws On drafting in the Azerbaijan Republic and On Defense.
Askerov said, at the Azerbaijans presidents legislative initiative in the drafts, submitted to Milli Mejlis, along with the departments, enterprises and organizations involvement of local self-government bodies is proposed for ensuring the countrys defense needs, irrespective of forms of ownership.
The Azerbaijani-Latvian inter-governmental agreement On cooperation in fighting terrorism, illegal drugs, psychotropic agents, precursors trafficking and the organized crime has been also considered. It was decided to submit them to debating at the Parliament.
