1239 people have put forward their candidatures in connection with the municipal elections in Azerbaijan scheduled for October 6, 2006, Trend reports with reference to the Central Election Commission (CEC).
1172 out of 1239 people have received the signature lists. 202 persons have completed the signature collection and submitted the lists. 131 candidates have been registered. 63 persons who joined the elections remain unknown candidates.
61 persons are the members of New Azerbaijan Party, 4 Azerbaijan Popular Front Party, 2 Social Welfare Party and 1 other parties.
Repeat, additional and news municipal elections will be held on October 6, 2006.
